Last weekend the family and friends got together for a visit from my grandpa and grandma and to celebrate mother’s day. Here are some of the pictures that I took.

Summer Photos 2009

My mom has wanted, for a while, to take some family pictures to send out with Christmas cards. This past weekend we finally did it. Now, I will admit that at first I was totally against semi matching outfits, because I think that’s cheesy. But I’ve changed my mind, the pictures came out really good, and I think the white shirts helped.

Growing up I hated taking family pictures, but continued maturity (and progressive sanctification), have mostly beat that out of me. But it seems that I passed that bad attitude on to Rachael, who was a pain the entire shoot. But alas, we did manage to get some good shots of her, and we all ended up having a good time.

Mother’s Day Pictures

Mother’s day was great, my mom came over and spent the day with us. We laughed and played with the kids and ate some good food. I don’t know how I got this lucky, but my mom brought some fillet mignon for me took cook up on the grill. I had never cooked a fillet before, but they came out perfect. It was a very good day.

In the middle of a couple months of constant rain we got one day of sun and decided to take advantage of it. I have added some pictures to the gallery that we took (without any earlier planning) to remember that day.

Websites, Hospitals, and Uncle Tim

The past few weeks have been crazy busy for me. I’ve been consumed by a new website that I have been developing for my work. It has taken longer than I originally thought and has been more stressful than I originally thought (I think due to the fact that I should have developed it on my own time, without leaking it to my co-workers that I was working on it), but I think it will also be a better final product than I thought. I will post it up here when it is done (it should be this weekend), because I would love to hear some feedback about it from you.

On top of the busyness of the website development, I also had a bit of a health scare. I was in the hospital twice because of the issue and still have more tests to do before I can put it all behind me. I have a plan to write a lengthier post about what happened and my thoughts on the issue, but for now I think it’s good enough to say that I am doing well.

The one relaxing and fun thing that I got in over the past few weeks was a visit from my brother Tim (Rachael’s Uncle). Although beat up from my time in the hospital, I had a great time with him. I wish I could hang out with him more often, however I think the 1400 miles in between here and CA will continue to prevent that though. Rachael had a great time with her uncle Tim. They spent a good amount of time just playing and hanging out. Rachael loves him a lot, and as always was really sad to see him go, as was I. But it was a great time nonetheless.

Rachael’s 4th Birthday

We had some family over for food, cake, and fun to help Rachael celebrate her 4th birthday on Saturday. And not to be confusing, her birthday is actually on the 11th of January, but somehow her party got pushed to this weekend. It was fun just the same. Rachael had a great time and behaved very well the whole day. We ate and laughed and generally had a great time.

A Week Old

It’s been one week now since Isaiah was born and he is doing great. I think he likes being home. He cries less here. He is pretty content with everything, and that’s saying a lot if you have ever smelled soy baby formula. I think I wold cry my head off if that was all that I could eat, although to be fair he has never tasted fillet mignon like I have, so maybe it’s all about what you compare the flavor to, and if that is the only thing you’ve ever tasted, maybe it would be good. But, I doubt it.

Rachael is being very helpful, and having to learn to be patient with a crying baby around, but she is doing good.

Alina is still in pain, but getting better. She has been able to actually climb the stairs to sleep in our bed the past couple of nights, which has been good. Oh, and she is now eating whatever she wants to, so that’s progress too. I would give it another couple of weeks before she is able to do back flips. OK, well that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but she is getting better.
