Must Have Been Some Cat

Stressed Out CatNo, I’m not turning this into a kitty blog. It’s just that crazy stories have been out there about cats the last couple of days. It started with Oscar the cat, but now we have a story of a crazy man leading cops on a high speed chase near Dallas. He told police that the reason he didn’t stop was that his cat was sick and he was trying to get it to the veterinarian. By the end of the chase the cat had died (although the news reported that it had been dead for some time).

In a follow up story, the police were called out to his home the following day (by a third party) about the stench and noise of his other animals. They removed “11 dogs and 43 cats and kittens from Teague’s home, which had feces and urine-soaked furniture, hundreds of empty cans of food and litter boxes full of feces.” This was on top of numerous dead animals wrapped in towels and laid in the freezer.

I’ll tell you what though; some people are crazy about their pets. They treat them like humans or better than humans in some cases. I mean 100mph through freeways and side streets for cat while putting the lives of human beings at risk by your recklessness is way over the line. Too bad this guy didn’t have Oscar around to warn him of the deaths of all the other kitties, or maybe that would just have lead to more danger to the public at large by a crazy pet owner.

About Dustin Wright

I believe that God is the absolute most important thing in existence; He is the first and best of all. And is deserving of all of our love. In Him is fullness of joy. Much of my thoughts and writings on this blog are a way for me to think through and struggle with certain spiritual truths where I may continue to fail, or where I see the church as failing. I believe that if Jesus is central in our lives, we will live with love and compassion to the lost and hurting and we will love them like Jesus loved us.
