No More 24

The season finale came and went for 24 and left a very bittersweet taste in my mouth. The season started out great, I mean a nuke going of outside of LA (probably destroying Six Flags magic mountain) was pretty cool. And Jack having to kill Curtis was one of the most dramtic things to happen in this series. But now that we come to the end, it seemed a little lacking. Yes, they left it open for more seasons or to end it with this one (as they have done just about every season), but a day that started out so big ended so small.

And one of the last phrases Jack muttered was that he was “standing at the crossroads” in his life. Come on. Are you kidding me, did Jack really say that? That was cheesey. But the one thing that those of us loyalists to the series can hope for is that maybe 24 the series is at a crossroads and that maybe they will finally give up some of this borring personal drama. The show should be about Jack taking on terrorists and taking them down, not Cloe and Morris and their nitpicking back and forth.

Come on 24, bring back the action into the drama, let the West Wing go away and let’s see more of the action that makes The Unit so cool. See you in January, 24, and hopefully you learned from Dennis Haysbert that action is more fun than politics.

About Dustin Wright

I believe that God is the absolute most important thing in existence; He is the first and best of all. And is deserving of all of our love. In Him is fullness of joy. Much of my thoughts and writings on this blog are a way for me to think through and struggle with certain spiritual truths where I may continue to fail, or where I see the church as failing. I believe that if Jesus is central in our lives, we will live with love and compassion to the lost and hurting and we will love them like Jesus loved us.
