Wet

Each of the cities around us has a water restriction in effect where we can only water on our trash day between certain hours.  Recently, we got a flyer put onto our doorstep about the watering restrictions specific to our city, and found out that, in McKinney, we could water any day of the week as long as it is after 6:00pm and watered by hand (not using our built in sprinklers).  This was good news as I had just re-seeded the lawn.

So, most evenings when I get home I spend a little time in the yard watering.  The grass seems to appreciate the water and so does Rachael.  She likes to come out with me and play in her little pool and get sprayed be the hose.  Anytime I walk near the back door she excitedly runs to me and yells “wet!?”  So, it has become our little tradition lately to water the lawn together.  She is so cute when I let her hold the hose.  She moves the hose side to side just like I do, and when I’m not looking in her direction she sprays me just like I do to her.

Getting “wet” has been one of the most fun things to do lately as it has been so hot.  It is a good way for me to wind down from the day as well as spend some time with Rachael, and it even gives Alina a chance to make dinner without Rachael, or I, bothering her.

About Dustin Wright

I believe that God is the absolute most important thing in existence; He is the first and best of all. And is deserving of all of our love. In Him is fullness of joy. Much of my thoughts and writings on this blog are a way for me to think through and struggle with certain spiritual truths where I may continue to fail, or where I see the church as failing. I believe that if Jesus is central in our lives, we will live with love and compassion to the lost and hurting and we will love them like Jesus loved us.
