It goes without arguing that our lives are so fast paced that we often overlook or plain breeze by important things in our lives just because we are so focused on the task at hand. Years ago cars didn’t have radios and the big distraction then was conversation with other passengers. Today we have radios (and when a simple dial wasn’t enough we moved on to XM radio to see sports scores and song information on a screen in our cars). Today the conversation with the other passengers in our car isn’t the one that causes distration, but rather the on that we have on our cell phones. The list goes on and on, but the point is the same: our lives are busy and too often we run through them and get so caught up in the insignificant things of the moment that we miss what is truly important.
I came across this news story that I wanted to pass on, because we need to be reminded that the things that we love in life, when not given the proper attention, can be gone in a second. I am asking you, and commiting myself, to slow down and not miss the life that God has planned for us by being so focused on the distractions around us and to spend more of our energy focused on those that we love. After all, most of us are all just one distraction away from making a mistake that we will forever regret. Slow down and pay more attention, to the road yes, but more so to the lives of those that you love.
